2024 WSOPC Tallinn Ring Event Results

The 2024 WSOPC Tallinn was an incredible experience for everyone who competed. Twelve players returned home after a long grind with a coveted gold WSOPC ring in tow and with their names written into poker's history books.
The Festival Series founder, Martin von Zweigbergk, triumphed in the €350 8-Game event, banking €8,020 and a WSOPC ring. The man affectionately known as "Frankie" was a popular champion and will likely be one of the favorites to add to his WSOPC hardware collection in 2025, thanks to the series featuring a €555 Sviten Special event.
Several players won prizes worth more than €50,000. Germany's Phil Gross banked €55,210 after coming out on top in the €555 No-Limit Hold'em tournament, while Finnish grinder Roope Tarmi won the €3,000 No-Limit Hold'em 6-Handed event for €64,000.
Lithuanian star Aurimas Stanevicius was the festival's biggest winner, as you would expect from the Main Event champion. Some 1,130 entrants, including re-entries, created a €1,052,352 prize pool, of which Stanevicius collected €167,600 after a heads-up deal with Norway's Espen Sandvik (€152,900).

- A hand that is well-organized makes it easier to identify potential combinations quickly and makes gameplay more fluid. Players can better visualize their options and make wise decisions during their turns by, for example, grouping cards according to suit or rank. Also, for added strategic advantage, managing your hand also entails understanding when to break up possible melds. Sometimes it might seem advantageous to keep certain cards, but if they make it harder for you to make new melds or make your hand better overall, it might be time to let them go. 25-05-30
- Players can minimize potential points in the event that another player declares Rummy by concentrating on making sets and runs as quickly as possible. This will also help them hold fewer unmelded cards. It is also crucial to keep your strategy flexible because it can be a big advantage to be able to adjust to changing conditions. 25-05-30
- The main goal is to combine cards into legitimate combinations, which can be runs (three or more consecutive cards of the same suit) or sets (three or four cards of the same rank). After a certain number of cards are dealt to each player, the remaining cards are gathered into a draw pile. Players alternately draw from the discard or draw piles in an effort to strengthen their hands while also monitoring the moves of their rivals. When a player declares Rummy and wins the round by successfully melding all of their cards, the game is over. 25-05-30

- For example, you could decide to change your focus to thwart your opponent's plans if you observe that they are gathering particular cards. Making effective use of your discards is another crucial component of strategy. It may be advantageous to discard valuable cards if you think your opponents won't benefit from them, but it may backfire if you unintentionally give them the last piece they require to finish their melds. It's crucial to monitor which cards your opponents are picking up & discarding as a result. You are better equipped to decide which cards to keep and which to discard when you are aware of this. 25-05-30
- On the other hand, if you observe that your opponent is routinely discarding particular card combinations, it might mean that they are no longer pursuing those combinations, which would allow you to modify your approach appropriately. Rummy success can be achieved by improving your ability to identify important card combinations and decipher the strategies of your opponents. In Rummy, the discard pile is frequently an underutilized resource that, when used properly, can have a big influence on gameplay. 25-05-30
- Knowing how the points are calculated is also very important. The value of the cards determines the winner in the majority of Rummy variations. While face cards (Kings, Queens, & Jacks) are worth ten points each, number cards usually retain their face value. The way that aces are used in a meld determines whether they are worth one point or eleven points. Knowing these guidelines improves gameplay & enables players to make wise choices when it's their turn. 25-05-30

- Always consider what you throw away & how it might impact the hands of your opponents. It's usually safe to discard low-value cards that are unlikely to assist others, but it's important to keep the game's context in mind. It might be wise to keep a card you are holding in your hand rather than throwing it away if you think your opponent is about to complete a meld with it. Players can also strategically use the discard pile to trick opponents into making bad choices. 25-05-30
