The 2025 SCOOP League draft is locked in!
Captains have done all they can to prepare; the battle lines are now drawn. While last year's SCOOP and WCOOP results gave captains valuable insight into player form, this year’s draft was all about predicting who can deliver when it matters most. From safe bets to big swings, here's how each team shaped up ahead of the new League on PokerStars.
Team peace&loove: Clear SCOOP League Favorites
Team peace&Loove absolutely crushed their early picks. Sebastian Huber immediately set the tone by selecting "FAL1st" (5 SCOOP titles) with the first overall pick. They've won two SCOOP titles in each of the last two years, and won five WCOOP titles en route to winning the Overall WCOOP leaderboard.

Huber's strong drafting continued with picks like Blaz "Scarmak3r" Zerjav (2 SCOOP titles) and Andrey "Premove" Skvortsov (10 SCOOP titles) both of whom showed consistency and scoring power in the past year. With a roster built heavily on proven performers and minimal risk, Team peace&loove looks like the early favorite heading into SCOOP 2025.

Team Kelvin_FP:AR: Top-End Strength

After being a draftee in the past two Leagues, Kelvin "Kelvin_FP:AR" Kerber (8 SCOOP titles) finally got the chance as a team captain, and he didn't waste it. He picked up fellow Brazilian Renan "Internett93o" Bruschi (2 SCOOP titles) with his first pick, who has the second-highest total points across the SCOOP and WCOOP Leagues in 2024, followed by strong picks like Niklas "Lena900" Astedt (9 SCOOP titles) and SCOOP title record holder Benny "Rungodlike" Glaser (11 SCOOP titles).
This approach leans heavily on selecting players with strong historical results, with Kerber's team holding 30 SCOOP titles between them. And while their later picks carry a bit more uncertainty, the firepower at the top gives Team Kelvin_FP:AR a great shot at contending if their stars perform to expectation.
Kerber is one of 14 players to have appeared in every League since its inception, although this is his first as a team captain. Excluding current/former team captains can you name the other ten? (answers at the bottom of the page)

Team easywithaces: High Risk, High Reward
Team easywithaces and Fintan Hand took several big swings in the draft. While selecting Jerry "Perrymejsen" Odeen (8 SCOOP titles) early made sense based on his solid 2024 results, taking Ole "wizowizo" Schemion (9 SCOOP titles) with his second pick could be seen as a major gamble.
Drafted in the inaugural SCOOP league, Schemion picked up his ninth SCOOP title last year, but failed to add to it and finished outside the Top 100 in the Overall Leaderboard. He subsequently went undrafted in the 2025 WCOOP, but Hand clearly has the sense that Schemion prefers SCOOP, with the German having won nine SCOOP titles compared to just two WCOOP titles.
"Sintoras" (5 SCOOP titles) won two SCOOP titles in 2024, and offers intriguing upside, but "Flerrehuuve" and Jamie "JamieDwan21" Dwan look much more volatile selections. Hand's team is the only one with two League debutants (Dwan and "Sintoras) and could surprise if their players find form, but they face a steeper path to the top compared to some of their rivals.

Team tonkaaaa: One Big Hit, Then Uncertainty
Team tonkaaaa's draft was very hit-or-miss. He started well by drafting Denis "Adrenalin710" Strebkov (8 SCOOP titles), one of the highest scorers from 2024. However, Talbot's draft quickly became more uneven, with mid- and late-round picks like Niclas "flushiisback" Thumm and Thiago "tgrigoletti" Grigoletti carrying more risk. Grigoletti hasn't added a SCOOP title since his first nine years ago, while Thumm is making his debut in the League format.
Team tonkaaaa’s success in 2025 will likely depend on Strebkov continuing to perform at an elite level and finding some breakout performances from the rest of the roster.

Team Spraggy: Strong Start, Risky Depth
Spraggy focused early on high-floor players, grabbing Patrick "pads1161" Leonard (8 SCOOP titles) and "King153246", both of whom had standout performances in 2024. Roman "RomeOpro" Romanovsky also won two SCOOP titles last year, bringing his career total to five.
However, the team's depth come with more risk, as later-round picks like "Mc1dot" and Daniel "SmilleThHero" Smiljkovic showed more volatility last year.
