Brazilian grinder Douglas "DowghSantos" Ferreira has seen it all during his poker career. Having played more than 140,000 multi-table tournaments, Ferreria has witnessed firsthand the ecstatic highs and soul-crushing lows MTTs produce at will. Earlier this week, Ferreira enjoyed a brand-new high when he pulled a massive $100,000 mystery bounty at PokerStars while live on stream.

Ferreria was one of 10,084 entrants in the $109 NLHE Main Event/Mystery Sunday Million, part of the SCOOP Warm-Up festival online at PokerStars. With only 1,063 players remaining, Ferreira was involved in a hand where his opponent was all-in with pocket nines against his king-queen. The flop was safe for the pocket pair, as was the turn, but a king on the river shipped a 50 big blind pot to Ferreira and sent his opponent to the rail.

A few moments later, the mystery bounty briefcase appeared on Ferreira's screen, quickly followed by the opening of the golden envelope. The prize inside that envelope? The $100,000 jackpot!

A delighted Ferreira told PokerNewsthat his previous largest mystery bounty haul was for $10,000 in this very tournament last year. It may seem like a silly question to ask, but how does it feel to win $100,000 in a matter of seconds?

"It's a unique experience," Ferreira told PokerNews. "I have played over 140,000 tournaments in my whole career, and I have never felt this emotion. I was streaming on Twitch, so that was even more insane."

"After winning the biggest mystery bunty, it will take a few days to realize in my mind what happened."

Regardless of where he finished in the $109 SCOOP Warm-Up Main Event, Ferreria was all but guaranteed to be the tournament's biggest winner. It would have been understandable if Ferreira threw caution to the wind and began splashing around in pots, but he tried his best to remain focused.

"There were still a lot of mystery bounties to be won in the tournament, so I believe I was still playing my best."

According to Ferreira, the best way to approach mystery bounty tournaments is to "build a big stack before the money places and hope for the best when the mysteries are on. No gamble, no future!"

The jackpot-winning star's deep run ended in 308th place, worth $102,754, double the haul the eventual champion collected. Ferreira's next mystery bounty plans?

After Ferreria crashed out with a freshly inflated PokerStars account balance, Ukraine's "ZYRIANJEK" fought their way to an impressive victory. After Jack "jackziyang" Salter busted in fourth and Ireland's "conoror96" fell in third, "ZYRIANJEK" battled heads-up with Armenia's "Peston1."

The heads-up duo struck a deal that almost levelled the regular prize pool payouts. Still, the runner-up walked away with nearly $25,000 more than the champion, thanks to accumulating $25,389 in mystery bounty payments compared to the winner's $531.

In the $1,050 buy-in, $400,000 guaranteed high edition of the SCOOP Warm-Up Main Event, "SwiftlyStacked" came out on top of a 511-strong field and scooped $77,394. They defeated "Team PokerBR" heads-up; the runner-up netted $55,364 for their efforts.

There is not long to wait before the 2025 Spring Championship Of Online Poker (SCOOP) gets underway at PokerStars. Some 130 numbered events (380 tournaments) in all shapes, sizes, variants, and formats take place between May 11 and June 2. Those MTTs have combined guarantees tipping the scales at a cool $60 million.
