"No days off" isn't just legendary NFL coach Bill Belichick's motto. The saying can also apply to Daniel Negreanu's 2025 World Series of Poker (WSOP) schedule, which tentatively includes 53 bracelet events.
The GGPoker ambassador is looking to turn a profit at the WSOP for the first time since 2021. He's also now eligible for the $5,000 No-Limit Hold'em Seniors event on June 12 as he turned 50 years old last July. And, yes, per his tweet, the poker legend dubbed "Kid Poker" plans to enter the 50-and-over tournament.
What's on Poker Legend's Plate?

Negreanu, who ended an 11-year bracelet drought in 2024 by winning the $50,000 Poker Players Championship, will begin his quest for bracelet number eight on May 27. The Las Vegas local plans to enter the first event on the 2025 WSOP schedule — $1,000 Mystery Millions.

The seven-time bracelet winner only has two days off planned between the first day of the series and the last day (July 16). But he could change his mind and show up to play on those off-days, especially if he's in the hunt for Player of the Year, an award he won in 2004 and 2013.
Negreanu, as per usual, will be mostly focused on the highest stakes events on the schedule. But he's mixed in some lower buy-in tournaments as well, such as $1,500 Omaha 8-or-Better (May 28), $1,500 Dealers Choice (May 30), and $1,000 Pot-Limit Omaha (June 13). He'll be playing nearly every poker variant offered, including but not limited to no-limit hold'em, mixed events, razz, and pot-limit Omaha.
There will be a heavy dose of high rollers on the Poker Hall of Famer's schedule this summer, including all three six-figure buy-in tournaments. Despite winning over $1.1 million in the PPC last year, he still finished the summer $170,000 in the red, bringing his three-year WSOP net losses to around $2 million. Running poorly in rebuy high rollers will do that.
Negreanu's 2025 WSOP schedule is subject to change depending on if he runs deep in certain events. He won't end the summer playing 53 events, but he'll be competing in a tournament nearly every day.
Negreanu, who recently won a PokerGO Tour high roller, said he will again sell some action to his fans this summer.

- Deadwood, or unmatched cards that don't contribute to any melds, should be minimized while maintaining a balanced hand that gives players flexibility. A crucial piece of advice is to constantly evaluate one's hand and spot possible melds when new cards are revealed. Along with this, players should think about how important it is to keep cards that are multipurpose. For instance, since a joker can be used to replace any card required to finish a meld, holding onto one can have several benefits. Players should also be aware of how many unmatched cards they currently hold; if they keep this number low, they have a better chance of winning when someone knocks or declares their hand. 25-03-15
