Sunny Florida is the sight of the $5,000 buy-in World Poker Tour (WPT) bestbet Scramble Championship from Nov. 15-19. More specifically, one of the top spots for tournament poker in the Southeast — bestbet Jacksonville.
At the time of publishing, it hadn't even been 24 hours since Michael Wang finished off his first WPT title with a CAD $384,738 victory in Montreal at Playground. And now it's time for the World Poker Tour to shift its focus back south to the United States for its near-annual trip to Jacksonville where Frederic Normand, a Canadian, will look to defend his title.
Getting Set for bestbet

Normand defeated 365 players to join the WPT Champions Club and win $351,650 one year ago. He'd go on to win a $1,600 buy-in WPT event at Wynn Las Vegas a month later for a career-best $417,828 score.
Defending a title in any poker tournament is never easy, but Normand can begin his quest to do so on Nov. 15 at noon ET with the first of two Day 1 starting flights — the second taking place at the same time a day later. All players who bag chips on either of the opening sessions will come back on Nov. 17 for Day 2 at noon, followed by Day 3 (Nov. 18), which is scheduled to play down to the final table of six.
The final table on Nov. 19 begins at 2 p.m. Players start with 50,000 chips and will play 60-minute levels on Day 1, and then 90-minute levels on Days 2 and 3 before returning to the 60-minute levels at the final table. Once heads-up play starts, the clock will drop to 30-minute levels.
PokerNewswill be on-site at bestbet Jacksonville throughout the tournament providing daily feature stories and recaps.

Expert players frequently use strategies to deceive their opponents about how strong their hands are. A player may, for example, discard a card that doesn't seem to be useful while covertly keeping other cards that could finish a powerful meld. This strategy can lead to misunderstandings and compel opponents to make poor choices because they believe the player's hand is not clear. 25-02-26
- Be careful not to give away too much about your hand. The ability to track discarded cards is one of the most important Rummy Go skills. By practicing, you can better understand your opponents' strategies in addition to determining which cards are still in play. Keeping an eye on which cards are being picked up from the discard pile and thrown away will help you decide which ones to keep & which to discard. It might be worthwhile to take the chance if there is a particular card in the discard pile that would greatly enhance your hand, like finishing a run or set, even if it gives away some details about your strategy. evaluating prospects for strategic action. 25-02-26
- Combining skill and strategy, playing Joy Rummy with the Apk is a fun experience. Players are presented with a lobby where they can choose their favorite game mode when they first launch the app. Once a mode has been selected, players can invite friends to play with them privately or are paired with opponents according to skill level. A predetermined number of cards from a standard deck are dealt to each player at the start of the game, with the remaining cards forming a draw pile. Using the available cards to create legitimate sets & sequences is the aim of Joy Rummy. - It's also critical to be adaptable with your melds. Be prepared to change course & consider other meld possibilities if you discover that one combination isn't working out as expected, possibly as a result of an opponent picking up important cards. This flexibility frequently makes the difference between winning & losing; athletes who strictly adhere to their original plans risk being at a disadvantage. 25-02-26

- For instance, taking advantage of an opponent's discarding of a card that completes a set or sequence for you can increase your chances of winning. Also, by strategically modifying their own discards, players should take the initiative to open doors for themselves. Players can limit opponents' options and create favorable conditions for themselves by discarding cards that are less likely to help them and keeping those that might help them form melds. Being proactive necessitates knowing one's own hand as well as the tactics and tendencies of one's opponents. The rules and tactics used in each of the many variations of rummy can affect the dynamics of movement. Unlike Indian Rummy, where players have more freedom to draw from both the stockpile & discard pile, Gin Rummy players must take a different strategy in order to form melds while minimizing deadwood points. 25-02-26

- Rummy Go's basic rules must be understood before one can appreciate it to the fullest. Each player usually receives a set number of cards at the start of the game—typically ten—while the remaining cards make up the draw pile. To create the discard pile, the top card from the draw pile is positioned face-up. In order to create legitimate combinations, or melds, players alternately draw cards from the draw or discard pile. 25-02-26
