The field just got tougher at the PokerStars Women’s Summer Festival.

Shiina Okamoto, fresh off winning the WSOP Ladies Championship for the second straight year, has confirmed she’ll be heading to London to compete for more titles and accolades.

The series runs August 12–17 at The Clermont, Charing Cross Hotel, and this will be Okamoto’s first-ever poker tournament in London.

Okamoto made headlines at the 2025 World Series of Poker by defeating a field of 1,368 players to win Event #70: $1,000 Ladies Championship for $184,094.

With the win, she became the first player in history to win the event in back-to-back years, which also impressively follows a runner-up finish in the same event in 2023.

More Gold Heading Okamoto's Way?

Fresh off one of the most dominant WSOP runs in recent memory, Okamoto will arrive in red-hot form, and with a schedule packed full of opportunities to keep the momentum going, just what exactly can the champ hop into?

The obvious one is the £400 Main Event, running August 14–17 with a £100,000 guarantee. With three Day 1 flights and a big title on the line, it’s the kind of tournament that could suit Okamoto perfectly.

Then there’s the £1,100 High Roller on August 13. It’s a single re-entry event where many of last year’s standouts are expected to return, and it wouldn’t be a surprise to see Okamoto mix it up with them. A £150 satellite the day before offers a direct path in.

She may also take a shot at something a little different. The 50/50 Freezeout on August 16, where teams are made up of one male and one female. And if she’s still in town on August 17, there’s the free-entry Closer where one player will win a package to EPT Prague. A £110 knockout is also on the final day for those who want to close out with a bounty hunt.

How to Qualify

Online satellites are already underway on PokerStars, with five Main Event seats guaranteed each week since early June.

Prefer to qualify in person? There are plenty of chances on-site too. A High Roller satellite runs on August 12, while Main Event qualifiers take place throughout the week, including a last-chance turbo right before Day 1C kicks off.
